Excel to CSV Converter

Save Excel sheets as CSV files to import into databases, online shops, mailing tools and other software. Choose the separator, and get one CSV file per sheet. The file is saved as UTF-8, so accents and other alphabets are kept.

How to use Excel to CSV Converter

  1. Select an Excel file (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsb, .xlsm or .ods).
  2. Choose comma, semicolon or tab as the separator.
  3. Click "Convert to CSV". One sheet downloads as a CSV file; several sheets download as a ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to workbooks with several sheets?

Each sheet that contains data is saved as its own CSV file, named after the sheet, and you download them together in a ZIP file.

Should I use a comma or a semicolon?

Comma is the standard. Choose semicolon if the file will be opened in Excel set to a language that writes decimals with a comma, such as French or German.

Are dates and formulas kept?

CSV only stores text, so each cell is saved as it is shown in Excel: dates and amounts keep their format, and formulas are replaced by their results.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

No. The spreadsheet is converted in your browser, so it never leaves your device.
