Add Page Numbers to PDF

Number the pages of a PDF in a few seconds: at the bottom or top, centered or in a corner, as 1, 1 / 12 or your own text such as "Page 1 of 12". Skip the cover page or start from any number. The PDF never leaves your device.

How to use Add Page Numbers to PDF

  1. Select the PDF you want to number.
  2. Choose the position, the format and, if needed, the first number and the pages to number.
  3. Click "Add page numbers" to download the numbered PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can I leave the cover page without a number?

Yes. Enter the pages to number, for example 2-20, and set the first number to 1 if the page after the cover should be page 1.

Does it change the rest of my PDF?

No. The numbers are added on top of each page. Text, images, links and form fields stay exactly as they were.

What about pages turned sideways?

Rotated pages get their number at the chosen spot of the page as you see it, and it reads the right way up.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The numbers are added in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
