Compress JPG Images

Make JPG photos from your phone or camera much lighter for email, websites and online forms, with no visible loss at the default quality. Add one photo or a whole batch; your photos never leave your device.

How to use Compress JPG Images

  1. Select one or more JPG photos.
  2. Choose a quality, or a maximum file size in KB.
  3. Click "Compress images". One photo downloads directly; several photos download as a ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my JPG get?

Photos from phones and cameras often get 50% to 80% smaller at 70% quality. A JPG that is already well compressed shrinks less; if it cannot get smaller, you get a message instead of a bigger file.

Does compressing change the width and height?

Not when you choose a quality: the photo keeps its size in pixels. With a target size in KB, the width and height are reduced only if even a low quality is too big, and only as much as needed.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The photos are compressed in your browser, so they never leave your device.
